If Michael the Archangel appeared to you, you would surely venerate him.

That is, you would treat him with great respect and reverance as a holy messenger of God who kicks Satan's butt. You would treat him differently than Bubba from the local auto shop. But you would NOT worship or adore him as God.

Likewise, we venerate Mary as the mother of our King. But we would never worship or adore her.
