There is some confusion, Telegram isn't private either. For those in western societies like ourselves is just *more* private than signal because they don't share our data for free with the western counterparts.

Math isn't relevant here. Signal ignores security flaws for years, years and years until Musk exposed them: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/signal-downplays-encryption-key-flaw-fixes-it-after-x-drama/ (and that is just one example out of so many others).

For God's sake, CIA and NSA both support a product named "signal". Difficult to be more obvious than that.

They were receiving tens of million USD per year from the CIA until recently to keep that "free" service running.

Maybe we should just ask for a written statement from both agencies that they explicitly pozzed that thing right from its inception.
