Even without moving money back and forth (washing), you can create fake zap events with an amount specified.
You can however validate them and often rejects bad zap events. However, you still end up at least having to trust a whitelist of zap enabled wallet services (like WOS).
Validating zaps requires at least a couple HTTP calls and is not easy for clients to verify (mostly UX and lag to verify zaps before showing a number). Itβs a weakness for what we use today.
