Memorize basic math solutions and spelling words. I’m astounded at how many kids their age don’t know those. It slows you down in many aspects of life if you don’t.

Typing skills. Just because kids are good with devices, doesn’t mean they can type well.

Discuss the physics and chemistry principles behind things you encounter during the day. Help them learn that there is always an explanation for things. Makes the world less scary and makes them more confident they can handle anything that comes their way.
