Pulling your #bitcoin off exchanges does not mean putting them in custodial wallets such as Wallet of Satoshi or Alby.
You should only use the above two, or other custodial wallets, for small amounts of sats, for zapping for instance.
Otherwise, I recommend using Phoenix wallet where you'll get to hold your own keys.
