I even grew up with floppy disks but I don’t know this bird. Well, I never owned a Windows PC. Maybe that is the reason why?

Might be... SoulSeek was a P2P file sharing (mostly for underground music) and chatroom back in early 2000s... Probably Windows only IDK 😐

You might be shocked, but soulseek is still alive and kicking.

I'd say it's working better than ever, because of the bandwith available today leeds to less incomplete downloads that you may never complete, because the other side just vanishes.

Soulseek v much alive, best place to go for music, p good for older films, even has some eBooks (obv libgen is the place for that), typefaces.

It's not "a huge place" by any means, but it's still a good source if you need it. Probably because true music hoarders never left. BTW there are audiobooks too.
