The love of being in control and knowing everything is far more dangerous.
There's nothing that bizzarre about cutting bodies open…your butcher is probably one of the more grounded people in your life! In surgery, everything is covered--the patient is not really a person anymore, but rather a system to navigate.
Most humans like to be in control of their life and circumstances and their surroundings, to a reasonable degree.
