I find it so curious that people put so much weight behind "the church fathers."

In today's age we have access to the Internet and it's wealth of information in addition to new data from the discoveries such as the Dead Sea Scrolls. Nothing that the 'church fathers' had access to.

Why are so many believers scared of new data?

Are you aware that the Biblical translators of various editions purposely altered the text/translations to fit a monotheists agenda? They were scared of words such as 'Bene Elohim' (sons of God).

It wasn't until the DSS that we have older scriptures/text that confirms the fairly new understanding of the Divine Council - something that Dr. Michael Heiser trail blazed during his time, and even he was met with push back from 'church leaders' because of it.

We must remain critical thinkers and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal as we read the text as it is, without any doctrine or bias from personal beliefs/understanding.
