When you need to commute, but the local train station is down for repairs. So, you have your hubby drive you to the next station, past three roadworks, through a traffic jam, crawling along behind a cyclist and then a tractor, and a closed off-ramp. And then you're so distracted by a crazy drunk on the train, that you miss your exit station. So, you get out at the next one, to go back, but it turns out that it doesn't stop at that station because of construction. So, you take a train to the station behind it and then ride back again. But, it's the wrong train, as they apparently drove into the wrong platform, so everyone who got on with you is upset. And, so you have to change, and go back again. And you call the office and say you're giving up and going home. And then you miss the train home... but not really, because it was canceled.

So, you buy what passes for breakfast and scroll Nostr, instead, and someone has posted a funny meme. And you think, day's actually going okay, so far.

I’m so sorry that’s awful

and thats why commute is the evil to be avoided at all cost

Well, I'm lucky that it's a voluntary weekly commute, so if it doesn't work out for me, I just don't go.

I really like my colleagues and we like meeting up in person, but the Bavarian roads and trains are in complete collapse. It's even hard to just get from one side of Munich to the other.

i'm not surprised based on my last time in the city in ... hm when was it... 2018 maybe, i have vivid memories of walking down a street and croatian or albanians or something cruising past with turbo folk up loud, and in multiple places seeing temporary shelter and people sleeping under bridges and stuff like this, a notable one nearby the BMW (or was it mercedes) factory.

it's a beautiful city but already by then the culture was collapsing

It's all a journey, life. Enjoy it x

I still don’t understand how the train system in Germany is incomprehensible and doesn’t work 1 out of 2 times.

I found the trains in Munich much better than both Canada and London, and your experience cements my sentiment

I’ve never taken the train in London nor Canada, but in Germany, I’ve found it be confusing.

It is

In Munich It was clean, on time, & the conductor even told a joke at a stop. In London I had a lady talk on here speaker phone for 15 minutes.

The real secret is that public transportation sucks & so does construction

You weren’t supposed to work today, enjoy the trip!

The train home just got stopped.

🤣🤣

Okay, we're moving, again. But I had a brilliant idea, for Nostr, while we were parked, so it wasn't totally wasted time.

Live is a bitch, or is it?
