A Satoshi is the "base Unit" of Bitcoin for there are 100,000,000 million Sats in 1 BTC.

John wants to rename Satoshis to Bitcoin in order to relieve the perception by many that Bitcoin is "too expensive" to buy.

I doubt it will ever happen but he got his BIP.

This is so nonsensical to me.

1. The whole premise has been "there will only be 21m bitcoin" falls apart.

2. We are past the point of bitcoin being too expensive. We are now transitioning into the "people like expensive things" phase.

I say leave the lotto "I missed bitcoin, what's the next bitcoin" chasers to XRP.

IMO it's a shitcoin mentality that thinks we need to attract new people by playing their unit bias in the hope they don't buy another shitcoin.

I would agree on renaming sats to bits, thus 1 Bitcoin = 100 million bits.
