Gotcha - That makes sense. But wierd that I get the normal pop up to choose an installed LN wallet app from profiles, no? Or do the LNAddress links in the profiles not use NWC like the zap button?

I had setup NWC multiple months ago. I had it setup for a very short time. Everything was working normal post deletion of NWC up until very recently. it was this week when I first noticed it wasn't working as usual.
