#nostr 's nature prevents users from getting good stats right? number of followers, note views, etc. So, purposefully interacting with a note via zaps or reactions seems to be the only reliable way for the people I follow to be incentivized to continue posting; otherwise they will feel like they are speaking to an empty audience, which feels awkward.

if that's the case, free (non-zap) interactions are really important.

If you use hashtags, it would give you a similar reach as having lots of followers.

True. But a larger audience that the author can't see also doesn't work motivation wise.

I agree, normal interaction shouldn’t be based upon if I get a zap or not.

Got my first zap yesterday and unfortunately I do not have lightning up and running lmao.

I really don’t care if I get rewarded or not because this space seems healthy, go to reddit, twitter, youtube or facebook, it’s all advertisement, bots and unbelievable rude people. If you hold an opinion on anything you can be sure that someone will take a literal dump on you for saying so.

Someone will wish cancer upon your whole family for saying you like dogs.

I have been here for a week and I have seen one person being toxic.

This is a good space and I like it.

That's how I feel about #nostr as well; that we're dealing with a more natural dynamic of digital social interaction.

And please setup your lightning address to receive zaps. I'm arguing that free interactions are important but getting zapped is in another level of magnitude on the motivation scale, you'll see.

I don’t disagree with anything you said, but I also feel like, because people are being incentivized, they may not be 100% genuine. I know that’s a bit cynical, but people will do strange things for zaps. 😁
