🇬🇧 UK’s Online Safety Act is now in effect.

It forces platforms to scan for “illegal” and “harmful” content (even in private messages) and implement strict age checks for adult sites with face scans and ID checks.

Signal and WhatsApp warn it threatens encryption, privacy, and online anonymity.
