No. Nostr is Nostr

Oh, where’s Bitcoin country?

Why’d you lose respect for them?

Initially, it was El Salvador but some argue that’s no longer a thing.

I lost respect for them because after interacting with many, attending meetups, conferences, and markets. I realized they were solely focused on taking my corn and making it theirs. I was also kind of shocked with how closed off, cliquey, and prejudice many were.

I made friends with a semi-bitcoiner expat and she was surprised to know I’m a maxi because she believed the bitcoiners were all bigots and racist. I reminded her some not all but still … the energy of some of the folks is just nasty. For Bitcoin to be a tool for enemies I can’t respect people who moved to a third world country to make corn off tourists and throw pennies at housekeepers and nannies. My needs are met (praise Jesus) so I just left them to themselves and picked up a sport 😂.

Thanks for the explanation.

El Salvador isn’t working out?

Oh no, I love it here. It’s great. I just had to acknowledge that Bitcoin is an important tool in my life but it’s not my life so people who are building a life around it and I won’t necessarily mesh, and that’s ok!

Oh cool.

You’re there? How is it?

Seems like you stacked ahead of time.

Unfortunately there will be a lot of grifters that want to catch up.

That may be the disconnect you’re seeing?

Grifting is super annoying. I definitely see it as a character flaw… so maybe you’re right.

I really believe in Bitcoin and stack as hard as I can as often as I can. It’s too hard of an asset to throw a way willy nilly. Which is a huge part of my frustration with people who claim to understand its significance.

I didn’t move for bitcoin though, I moved because it’s really safe. After the BLM protests burned down a Wendy’s 7 mins from my house then the next year some friends got into unnecessary trouble in Austin at a conference, I was over it. El Salvador is really safe and that’s really important to me.

The safety down there is super important, I glad to hear it.

Yeah, BLM was a nightmare, race grifters at their worst.
