There is a special type of psychopathy that results in power accumulation wielded with the intent to destroy & cause chaos. It’s like pyromania, but human suffering is main goal. And these psychopaths hide their psychopathy very well by preying on normal people’s assumptions of humanity.

For those who are not religious, I propose this psychopathy is the genesis of the “devil” character seen in many cultures.

For the religious, the Bible is very clear about the devil coming only to steal, kill, and destroy.

For everyone, as an aside, I subscribe to the idea that there is a religious and a “scientific” explanation for all natural phenomenon…otherwise belief is coercion, but that’s another story.
