The movie kill the messenger which is based on the true story of Gary Webb is a perfect summary of the system.

The CIA used drug trafficking to finance the Contras in Nicaragua and the drug was sold in the USA creating an epidemic.

I won't tell you more but it is worth knowing this true story to realize how rotten the system is and what a lie the fight against drugs is.

Interesting investigation from George Webb posits that the heroin trade in southeast Asia was used to finance a nuke for Israel in the early 60's, leading to the assassination of JFK who tried to stop both the heroin trade and the nuke to Israel.
