I was looking at the 1010music bluebox.
Small form factor. Same form factor as the black box. 12 mono tracks or 6 stereo tracks. Records all tracks individually or together via sd card.
A fifth of the price of the model1

there's a model1.4 which is 4 stereo channels instead of 6... or i'd be going with the OTO mixer – can't even remember what it's called, but I don't think that mix of analog filters and a mixer can be overstated and ... there aint many small form factor mixers that do that that I can find...

it looks amazing i have to say. there's a whole thread on elektronauts about people looking for the perfect mixer btw. this and model1 get discussed. there aren't many options
the only offputting thing for me is the mini jacks; but you're after small form-factor.
