There is also a specific tab in nostrudel that only shows the mutes "Muted By". I am also muted quite a bit but that was to be expected, no worries.

I don't think you are, you might just be reading all this the wrong way. There's many people that only care about one thing and curate their timeline accordingly. If art isn't part of that one thing, and people see an account that mostly posts art, many people will mute said account.
Also, as a general rule of thumb: never take anything that happens on the interwebs personally.

I think more that this is a wake-up call that the way I post art and advertise my site has been a bit over the top.
Although I don't have to take it personally it was a lesson to me.

I think sometimes you do a burst and I see maybe 20 or 30 posts in a row in my timeline
That's why ppl hit mute
And tbh when that happens I do scroll past some whereas if they were spread out I would read them all
I interpret the bursts as passion which is a good thing, if I was more passionate I'd post more often too 😄🙃
But yeah it might be more effective to spread them out
