Note to self. I'm never doing IT support for a radio station again or at last if I do it again ill need to get something in fucking writing that allows for some system downtime even if I have to come into the station after peak hours I dont mind working late nights. I'll build websites all fucking day but going into a network blind, with downtime not allowed, and janky ass half patched together critical automation systems, having to use the lightest touch possible to not break any of the above stated janky half ass patched together automation systems and tiptoe round live broadcasts (server room is also the fucking broadcast studio go figure) has been trying to say the least.

Server room is broadcast booth as well?? 😱

Also who still listens to live radio stations? Almost everything is freakin iheart garbage anyway now...

Its a local sports radio station. They have an AM station with a few FM translators.

this seems a little reckless on their part

If they require no downtime then you should have it specified in contract and how much downtime is allowed as less you allow significantly more it costs.
