Unpopular opinion: running a node isn’t worth it (Umbrel)
Lightning channels are too complicated. I update my apps without reading the fine print (don’t lie. You do too)
The apps are buggy. Constantly need to restart.
Curious to hear what others think
My umbrel runs fine but the pi 4 makes it unreliable
1. Umbrel allows you to have self custody of your lightning Bitcoin.
2. It keeps your hand in the future with running a lightning node.
3. It awesome having a Bitcoin node too.
4. You can technically broadcast your transactions through your own node.
5. There are also other apps you can explore.
5. and it is just fun!
Run a full bitcoin node. Most people don’t need to run a full lightning node.
