The UK is fun for naturalised citizens like myself. Conversations about it usually go like this:
Well-intentioned person taking an interest: "Oh, so you’re an Englishman now?" 🏴
Me: "Well, not quite. After several years living in the UK on a work visa, I’m now a naturalised citizen and British passport holder. So, I guess you could say I’m "British" (sweating profusely)... But I wasn’t born in England, and I’ve lived in Scotland for about as long as I’ve lived in England." 🇬🇧
Person: "Oh, so you’re Scottish then?"
Me: (Considering my options) ... (...) ... "Aye, yer right." 🏴
