Yes entering any passphrase will create a new wallet, but for the detail on why reset we need some #[2] 😇

So you can’t use multiple passphrases on one device (used to do that with ledger).

I have to reset every time I want to enter another passphrase?!

Why not keep your 12/24 words wallet and be able to setup temporarily a passphrase and every time I turn off the device it would reset to the 12/24 basic wallet. In that way I can have multiple ‘secret’ wallets without needing to reset the device every time…

That is definitely possi. You can setup jade wether you want it to ask every time for a passphrase or only next time or never and you can change this setting again. That’s why i don’t under why the setup of a passphrase wallet has to happen after a reset. In theory it should work if you setup a seed without passphrase and later just decide to ligin with passphrase.

Why won’t you choose every time?

I’m not yet into the settings. Cannot wait for the Jade to be delivered. How long took it with you?

It took a week. Ordered from blockstream to Europe.

They have a great knowledge base. I recommend reading some of the articles while waiting. They are really short and meaty

Already did that bro 👀

Want to keep it air gapped 😍

Love that feature too 💜

It works great with sparrow wallet

Thanks for the tip! Was considering blue wallet

Maybe you wouldn’t choose every time so that someone who gains control over your device doesn’t know that you have setup a passphrase

Yes that’s the only reason I could think of. But I imagine your PIN code still secures that part.. nobody will see the option if they don’t know the PIN code

True 💯💪

#[2] can you help us here? Why is it necessary to reset the jade before using a passphrase? As described here https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410784576921-How-do-I-enable-BIP39-passphrase-on-Jade-
