For this series, and perhaps ones in the future, expect no. 8 to carry a lot of uniqueness and tie into the concepts of infinity, mirroring, and balance in some way.

In a series of 21 pieces, 8 = ♾️ / 21. 8 itself is reflects perfectly across the x and y axis. In US culture, it’s a number of magic and mysteries, of seeking clarity and safe passage through the unknowable (magic 8 ball) and finality (8 ball in pool). In more than a few Eastern cultures is an auspicious number of luck, health, and wealth.

Unlike the other pieces, this one does not have a clearly marked starting point. One may start from the top “As Above” or at the bottom “So Below” - these words themselves a mystical tome from the Emerald Tablet (a text widely considered to be the foundation of Islamo-European alchemy) that speaks to the effects of celestial mechanics on earthly events and fractal mirroring across related macrocosm and microcosm systems (society and man, a metropolis and the individual family home within, the strange scaled sameness of the mountain and the jagged throwing stone).

In the Tarot, “The Magician” who is seen with the infinity sign (8/♾️) above his head is associated with phrase “As Above, So Below.” What’s more, the appearance of The Magician signifies energy, potential, and the manifestation of one’s desires - a meaning and melding of the physical and spiritual and a conduit to convert spiritual energy into real-word action.

In the piece is self these is a meeting and melding of colors and designs that can represent heaven and earth, sky and land/sea, spirit and body. The six pointed star that frames the सत् (SAT) is also a symbolic representation of “As Above, So Below.” The entire page is filled to represent wholeness and reaching for the totality of the infinite.
