I remember a website I saw around 2008 called "NO WWW" that advocated for the removal of www in web addresses. It argued that it was a bygone convention and a waste of time to type.

It referenced a competing website, "YES WWW" that argued for why the www should be included in all web addresses.

YES WWW referenced yet another website called "EXTRA WWW" which took the extreme and almost certainly satirical position that all websites should have www.www before their domain name 😂

I imagine it might have possibly been a play by the NO WWW folks to satirize the YES WWW crowd with hyperbole.

Anyways, good times. I can't find these sites anymore but they were pretty funny for a web dev nerd like me.
