Building an opensource client that gives away everything for free is greedy 🤷‍♂️

we’re using all of our purple subscription income to pay an employee so they can have an opportunity to work on freedom tech (which doesn’t even cover their wage), but yes we’re doing this all for greed 🙄

My thoughts exactly. I'm very confused. 🫂

team positive/ c + things/t-u let's go!

Me too! Like WTF!

Where to start. Charging $10 a month for basically nothing, other than access to a TestFlight, which should be free anyways.

TestFlight isn’t meant to be used to extort your users for more money, it’s meant to test apps BEFORE you charge people for it.

Charging $50 for a $3 dollar hat. What was it, $30 for a shirt, Are they laced with gold? LMFAO.

IMO, these things aren't about paying for the item, they're about supporting the development of an app that you use.

Thank you Derek! That’s exactly it 💜💜💜

No one is forcing anyone to buy any of this.

This “free” mentality stems from being the product of Google, Microsoft, and countless other marketing campaigns.

You can still use Damus without purple

You can opt to not buy a hat or shirt

You can make the economic decision to not pay and even say it’s too much but this “everything should be free” shit is dumb.

Nice story.
