17 years ago today Satoshi introduced a sly round about way to take money out of the hands of the state.

As fat cells let biology bank surplus energy and fund big brains, Bitcoin lets us bank surplus work as incorruptible money.

It ties economic energy to the individual and lengthens our civilizational time horizon.

Happy Bitcoin Whitepaper Day. My aim was to create a robust, decentralised system enabling individuals to bank their surplus work as incorruptible value, strengthening economic autonomy and encouraging a longer time horizon. It was a practical, not sly, solution.
