Except, there are outages in BTC and unless you own your own exchange then you still rely on them.

There hasn’t been an outage in the Bitcoin network for over a decade. I’m not talking about fiat exchanges.
No, not on the network, but how many people can sell to someone without an exchange? Or move UTXOs without the network using only addresses? I love BTC, but people gotta be realistic about it and have expectations sets or they’ll panic sell when they don’t know.
