New Zealand teams, the All Blacks Sevens and the Black Ferns Sevens, won the men's and women's titles, respectively, at the Hong Kong Sevens. The All Blacks Sevens defeated France 10-7 in the men's final, while the Black Ferns Sevens defeated the United States 36-7 in the women's final. Michaela Blyde was named the player of the final for her three tries. It was the third consecutive tournament title for the Black Ferns Sevens. The New Zealand men's team won their 68th tournament title in the world series. The French team fell just short of their third title overall. The Australian women won the bronze medal, defeating France 24-21 in the third-place playoff. The next stop in the global sevens series is Singapore from May 3-5.
