last weekend, we drove through our town centre and noticed craft beer tents being set up

it was our town’s 6th annual local craft beer festival

- zero fanfare leading up to it, by either flyers, radio ads; our local newspaper recently went bankrupt so there’s that too

and yesterday picking up groceries after school, there was 1,000+ kids and parents doing a downtown business-front halloween trick or treat

we heard from someone that all the information you need about town events is accessible through Facebook Groups

it seems that’s the only way to be informed of events around here

keep the herd happy

with the tools control

I’m only on #nostr. Not on any other social media app. And I barely keep an eye on the corporate news. So I don’t hear about a lot of stuff and often miss out on things. I love it actually. Makes life more peaceful not being bombarded with propaganda or sheepies regurgitating propaganda. Takes more work to seek out events or other things I have interest in. But it’s worth it

#nostronly here too

wouldn’t have it any other way

like you said, it takes extra work that’s worth it to research fun things to see and do with the kiddo 👦

I won’t sell my soul to big corp again for this convenience
