Trump speaking at the 2024 bitcoin conference is going mark the beginning of bitcoin's tenure as a distinctly partisan issue; at least when neither party openly embraced it, it didn't come with a political aftertaste. Now left-leaning people will automatically rail against it because of association with Trump, meanwhile trumpers will embrace it without knowing a damn thing about it or why it's important.

But, this was always inevitable, and in the end it will prevail regardless.
