I would assume the larger trunks could have been hauled away and sold.

But all the smaller branches should be left on the ground. This gives insects a very fertile breeding ground

. It’s in fact very healthy for the woods as a whole to have “dead” leaves and branches on the forest floor 🤔

Agreed there are good fungus that grows out of dead trees but the fires took care of them than again fires can also be a good thing for a forest perspective is everything
