I can’t follow the #clientwars debate at a technical level and don’t care. I’ll use the clients I like best. That’s the point anyway.

Relax if you want Nostr to do something some client is going to make it work. It’s a free market and markets will market it’s what they do.

If one starts making images not work or whatever the fuck is going on users will leave it and competition will continue.

TL;DR

Vitor implemented a NIP in a way that was not even considered by other devs. On the most popular android app… breaking the unity of Nostr.

People lost their shit with only zaps which did not disturb the unity,

Someone needs to comprehend open source protocol at a reasonable level say about 5th grade level.

Did you build a client for Nostr? No? Then grow the fuck up and either do so or chose another one.

Dude, where did I cry? I enjoy the creative soup. I enjoy the fact that each do their stuff. Was the unity of displaying images broken with this? Yes. Will it be solved? Yes. Did Vitor implement something in a way many other did not consider? Yes. Will it become the standard? Will people push for other ways? Fuck knows. Did it create tensions. Yes. Can the major devs learn from this? Absolutely.

Now, can we chill?
