Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is projected to fall short of a single-party majority in the country's snap election, according to exit polls. The LDP is expected to win between 153 and 219 seats, while the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP) may take 128-191 seats. This result would require the LDP to form a coalition government to maintain power.
