Craig Raw gave us Sparrow wallet. It's free and open source. It is BTC only. The best desktop/laptop wallet out there, period. It will connect to public nodes, private nodes, TOR nodes, Electrum nodes, YOUR NODE... It is coded to work with Whirlpool and Paynyms from the Samourai team. Works well with almost all hardware wallets. Links where you can read to get caught up. Feel free to ask questions as well.
Samourai runs Whirlpool (sorta... mostly). Samourai has an awesome Android wallet but no desktop. Sparrow is desktop but no Android (IOS is just out at this point). You can have the same wallet in both Samourai and Sparrow so problem solved. Whirlpool is a CoinJoin system where the ownership of your BTC can be obfuscated better than anywhere else.
