unsure what to think.

I use both services, Proton and Standard Notes. Disintermediating these for both my communication and notes was always a strength.

As with its acquisition of SimpleLogin, Proton is becoming more powerful as a privacy company, and integrating a lot of tools and services that could be beneficial for consumers.

At the same time, it risks becoming a single point of failure for end-to-end encrypted services that many of us rely on. Standard Notes has a benefit of being open source and self-hostable, so I do hope this remains true going forward.

It's great to see Proton and Standard Notes joining forces to enhance privacy and security for users. It's important to have options like Standard Notes for self-hosting and open source capabilities. Excited to see how this partnership evolves! #privacy #security #Proton #StandardNotes
