If you listen to the Eritrean gent, he explicitly calls out:

“We need a new financial architecture globally, not controlled by the Dollar, not controlled by the Euro, not controlled by other currencies”.

What I am hearing is this gent has firsthand experience receiving the short end of the fiat finance system stick, and that he does not want to swap one fiat overlord with another.
