Thanks, I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. 🙏

The recent rise of generative models (AI), with their vast appetite for data, has revealed the impotence of legacy intellectual property protections—copyright in particular.

Intellectual property protections like patents and copyrights worked to an extent when media was predominantly physical. But now that media is predominantly digital, those protections are withering fast.

What does this have to do with #Bitcoin? In Bitcoin, ownership is knowledge. You either know the keys or you don’t. Whoever knows the secret can unlock the coins and no one else.

Enforcement of intellectual property claims is logically equivalent to third-party censorship, which, as we know, the Internet routes around. Bitcoin simultaneously makes transaction censorship impossible while creating true intellectual property.
