I think they are going to add CC for all other coins as well, including XMR.

Yup, look forward to that as XMR has 0 coin control tools on mobile today.
I am not a knowledgeable person on XMR. Does monero use a UTXO model? I thought coin control was not necessary for it
Coin control is absolutely not a necessity like it is in Bitcoin, but it's still a nice-to-have for more advanced threat models and power users.
Bitcoin wallets *must* have coin control to properly preserve privacy, Monero wallets really only need it for users with an advanced threat model where they fear targeted surveillance and attacks.
