Layer 1 is the alternative to banks and the treasury market but there is no mechanism to prevent any one person or entity from participating in the network.
Agree there are no barriers. I am more concerned with the praise of tradfi institutions and the risk of centralization by pushing everyone to go through them. But hey, I don’t plan on letting someone else control my keys 🤷♂️
