there are trees of different colors. you can just have them all planted next to each other and have all the colors all year long.

True, but I want visual seasons with out experiencing extreme temperature variations.
temperature variations are part of the experience. you can watch the leaves fall on TV but you can't experience shivering or sweating by watching TV.
my preference would be to have permanent spring, like New Zealand style weather, but occasionally travel to other places to experience other weather conditions.
