Unpopular Opinion: Its ok to use a custodial wallet for Bitcoin Lightning because you should only be keeping relatively small amounts of Bitcoin on a Lightning wallet even if running your own node which has its own risks. 99% of savings should be in the main chain, in cold storage. Cold storage is not yet supported by lightning to the best of my knowledge.

Phoenix is better for everything Lightning except receiving zaps on Nostr. I receive to WoS or Alby but I send zaps from Phoenix.
I receive and send zaps with Alby on Nostr. But for mobile phone, Wos.
WoS is nice because its all-in-one Bitcoin and LN, great for micro-transactions on the go world-wide, without the confusion of LN vs on chain. This is one of the challenges reported when visiting El Salvador and paying locals. For LN I support WoS because its the path of least resistance, and most user friendly for newbies. I personally would prefer something like Phoenix, but for the sake of fluidity with other users in the field I see the value in WoS from many aspects.
