Which meetups? We run like 15+ in the midwest
Hosts are asking for the donations, or the meetup run in the office of bitcoin company
I'm fine with dono's but not being hosted exclusively at VC funded HQ's all the time.
We have a few that do that but not regularly ( meaning having events at VC funded companies' HQ's)

Yes! I was really happy that hosts moved from the bar to the Strike office but now I realize that it was a mistake
110% agree. Bar is great but more for socials, not actual events. Offices are great for events, but too easy to promote said co. products, which feels a bit "sleezy" to new meetuo members.
We can chat more into details how to do this better for what we've done, but yes I agree there is a problem here. No easy answer.
