It is indeed a better way to live.

The reason why I ask is it's better to live in a society that values property rights than one that doesn't.

Perhaps what you're saying is that it starts with me living that way, people seeing that I am happy and content in living that way, then deciding to do the same and as a result a social order emerging from it spontaneously.

Maybe these people who apparently despise wealth do so because they see how pursuit of it can takeover a person’s life.

Perhaps the pursuit of assets which are truly interlocked with property rights (Bitcoin) rather than wealth with weak property rights (assets which are easy for the government to seize, regulate and tax) will help break this cycle.

For true wealth means less of a need/compulsion to chase meagre returns.

Yeah the nature of money messes with the way we perceive it.

Something that loses its value constantly will definitely be hated and despised.

That's probably why Bitcoiners have a different attitude towards money and wealth in general.
