Note that if you use Liquid to anonymize your Bitcoin you will have to do it through sideswap to hide the peg-in and peg-out.

I like coinjoin, what I don't like is the business that has been built around it, so I prefer to use other more economical methods such as liquid and sideswap for example.

The whirpool and wasabi type coordinators cannot steal your funds, what you have to understand is that they are centralized entities and under the regulation of a company, so they are at the mercy of the force of the state.

They have already gone after wasabi and have had to implement chain analysis, and samourai will surely have some kind of agreement with the authorities as well.
