u technically dont *need* VPN or Tor, you can also just rawdog it.. nothing *has* to change in comparison to what u did before if you dont want or see the need too

it's just many people arent even aware their IP is by default exposed when online - if the dangers of exposing your IP isn't relevant for your personal digital threat model you can just ignore it 🤍

I think most people are aware of this.

However.

I wouldn't want to be explaining to someone I could potentially onboard that a troll is posting IP addresses, cos that doesn't usually happen on social media lol.

But again it's not the end of the world. But it does add another layer of explanation and probably one that isn't 'normie' -friendly.(?)

but then again, on Twitter you could also use a Tor proxy in settings and get on Twitter via an onion link.. not many ppl knew dis but the ppl who are meant to hear it will hear it or find it themselves

in the bitcoin sphere and esp on Odells timeline there's just a heightened awareness of privacy tools.. the demographics attracted to his account is not ppl with disinterested for digital hygiene per se
