The funny thing with Nostr and the Fediverse is it’s a whole heap of people looking for an interoperable network without walled gardens etc.

Basically we all want The Internet. These protocols are really us taking it back to what it was pre Facebacon, X etc, maybe this is to Gen X what the 1950s was to boomers?

The first online communities, as far as I’m aware, gathered around niche interests. My first experience of communities were WinMX chat rooms, then music forums. That felt like peak internet to me.

Maybe is just the vibe of smaller communities?

There does seem to be a perfect balance , that when reached, resonates with a certain group of people. Then it becomes to success ful and the magic is lost. Like asomr groups that become so successful too fast.
