Haven't really had to any my location is always off but there are lots of options on Fdroid I got a app for weather I just have to manually type the location

Waze (yes, I know Google owns it now) is still the best option.
Magic Earth is Second best.
Organic Maps is the best OSM skin, but... Area lookup blows with all OSM clones. I can't stand that the answer you get is "oh, just add addresses manually." that's not at all possible.

No, unless you want traffic notifications.
Location services don’t make sense for a lot of things. Why does a store need my precise location when I have to give an address for shipping anyways 🤷🏾♂️
the hard part isn't really the g app replacements, but rather the google play services. the backend that makes it all work. i use micro g, which replaces all those services. i have gmaps but from aurora store anon account
MicroG and Aurora store with root install works flawless especially for background updates
