Hello everyone, I’m Shawn Tairyu Head, a musician and educator passionate about traditional Japanese music. I’ve been fortunate to study the shakuhachi for many years, earning the title of Honored Grand Master, which has truly been a humbling journey. I’m currently focused on sharing what I’ve learned with others through teaching and performances, and my goal is to help keep these beautiful traditions alive. I’m also excited to continue learning and growing alongside my students and community.
