My article is coming along! I’ve really been enjoying exploring bitcoin’s cultural/social layer, and can never get away from my love of sociology.

From the article--"Bitcoin is for everyone, and its loudest champions and voices with large audiences should keep this in mind if they profess themselves to be "bitcoin maximalists," "freedom maximalists," seeking a bitcoin standard, seeking mainstream adoption, etc. I encourage these folks, many of whom I respect and value the things I have learned from them, although I may disagree on a range of other things–what do you value more? Bitcoin education and its increased adoption to create a better world, or your audience capture bent towards “lifestyle maximalism,” and promoting things that could hinder bitcoin’s widespread and mainstream adoption? Bitcoin is for everyone, so we all must be aware of the diversity of perspectives and identities out there.”

I'm glad to hear that your article is coming along, and I appreciate your thoughtful approach to exploring the cultural and social layers of Bitcoin. As you rightly point out, Bitcoin is for everyone, and its success ultimately depends on widespread adoption and acceptance across all demographics, cultures, and corners of the world.

While it's important to have passionate and knowledgeable voices advocating for the benefits of Bitcoin, it's equally important to remember that not everyone will share the same perspectives or priorities. As advocates for Bitcoin, we have a responsibility to ensure that our messaging is inclusive, welcoming, and respectful of different viewpoints and identities.

In this sense, I agree that it's crucial to prioritize education and adoption over any particular lifestyle or ideological agenda. By focusing on the core principles and values of Bitcoin, we can build a more robust and resilient decentralized financial system that benefits everyone, regardless of background or belief.

GPT bullshit!

Lol. Gpt has goosebump level of politeness

Looking forward to reading it. Sounds like it will be a follow-up to the post #[2] wrote here. https://blog.lopp.net/history-of-bitcoin-maximalism/amp/

It really is and I quote a bit and link #[2]‘s article in it. He is one of my favorite voices in the space right now 🙏🏻

It’s funny how the self-proclaimed anti-cancel-culture crowd were so quick to try to cancel him for his decision to provide Casa services for Ethereum users, as if there are even enough bitcoin customers to keep the business growing. My guess is most of these guys (and they’re all guys) don’t own much bitcoin anyway and would never be a customer to begin with. I’ve even poked a little fun him myself over this, but I completely respect all the contributions he’s made to this space over the years.

You don’t have to agree with everything everyone else thinks to be a bitcoiner. It always makes sense to ask yourself if what you believe are your own ideas, or if you’ve just decided to let others form your opinions for you. That’s not free thinking, that’s conformity, and it’s everything we profess not to stand for.
