A pruned node is a full node and it gives you sovereignty over your Bitcoin- if you use it.

a pruned node is by definition not full, but Adam's point is 100% true

A full pruned node keeps a database of the UTXOs, so it is considered a full node that offers all the security of a full broadcasting node.

After verifying the chain from genesis, the only good reason to keep the node unprunned is to use some kind of electrum server for wallets.
